About Me
- Name:Andrew Kaufman
- Location:Brooklyn,Iowa
The theme for the series is Containment and Contamination, which has been a concept from my past as well as the impetus for many other investigations. This series explores the imagery of the box, both open, closed and fractured as multiple metaphors for the individual, family, society or system. Although these concepts have crept forward in my mind, I am trying to create intuitively and formally. The comments tab is enabled for visitors to ask questions, and post criticism and/or accolades.
If you are interested in buying a painting email me with "Painting a Day" in the subject line. My email address is listed in the LINKS section.
STARTING DATE: October 2, 2006
I am an artist and a Lecturer of Art, currently at Central Washington University. After receiving my M.F.A. in Studio Art from the University of South Florida in 2002, I was employed as an Assistant Professor in the Art Department at Middle Tennessee State University (near Nashville, TN), and departed in 2005 to move out West.
Please look at my art website (below) for information and major works.

I am very impressed by your work. I would really like to see it up close. Do you plan to display this series in a gallery?
Very cool the containers appear almost 3-D.
What inspired you to paint boxes?
Good choice of colors!
Thanks. If there are a significant amount of paintings left in my possession, then I plan on having an exhibition at the end of the yearlong time frame. If you live close to Ellensburg WA I will be happy to show the paintings to you. Email me.
